Spiga — Establishment and food at 136 Main Street, New Canaan, Connecticut.

Highlights from beginning of visit to end:
Took some time for waitress to address our table for drinks
Wine and cocktail pours were good when we did get them
We were there to celebrate my brother-in-laws birthday so we wanted to take our time
Waitress made us feel extremely rushed
In order to slow pace we ordered apps only waited to order dinner
Staff started to clear plates before we were done
Waitress didn't seem happy to come back to give us fresh black pepper
If it were not for us asking for that she would not have checked on us
We ordered pasta as 2nd course--again she seemed almost annoyed. At least that is how we took it.
Dinners came. Excellent. No visits from server till almost done
We indicated that it was a birthday dinner and she did bring dessert with candle but could not be bothered to stay and at least say happy birthday
Overall, we loved the food. Was very loud but seems like many places are now. Wish more had table cloths as putting flatware directly on table is gross to me.
My family said "well she was young ". No excuse to me. Manager should train all staff properly.
We would go back as food was very good.
